Leidos’ Defense Systems Space Systems Division is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead a satellite & payload development project for a national security customer. The project will develop and integrate new advanced capabilities to mature this payload technology for future missions. This position will serve as the primary interface to the customer and lead a diverse team of engineers and teammates to a successful Preliminary Design Review at the end of phase 1 leading to the opportunity for awarding phase 2 and 3 to complete the design, build the payload and software, and integrate on a satellite.

Primary Responsibilities.
The PM will be responsible for successful execution of the development of a new radar payload to meet critical needs for national security space. This customer and technology are key components of our space system growth strategy. The PM will be responsible for planning, tracking, and executing within technical schedule and budget constraints. The project involves management of a collaborative team across the Leidos organization at multiple locations, subcontract partners, and major suppliers.
Basic Qualifications.
- Active Top Secret/SCI (TS/SCI)
- Local access to SCIF facility with CLAN
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or Management
- 8+ years’ experience as a project manager for development programs of similar scope
- Experience leading projects through the full design lifecycle and reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR)
- Experience managing multi-disciplinary engineering teams
- Experience developing and delivering integrated systems with both hardware & software
- Experience managing projects with multiple subcontractors
- Experience serving as the direct customer interface
- Experience developing, managing and tracking costs and estimates to complete
Preferred Qualifications.
- Expertise in RF and Radar technology
- Experience with space systems (satellites, payloads and operations)
- Experience with DoD customers such as SDA, NRO, Army, AFRL, or DARPA
- Experience with Other Transaction Authority prototype contracts

Pay Range:
Pay Range $89,700.00 - $162,150.00
The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
